Haiti - Culture : 3rd edition of CICA on the theme

Sunday began the 3rd edition of the Inter-regional meetings of Documentary and short film, organized by the association "Cinéma d'Ici, Cinéma d'Ailleurs" (CICA).

Created December 13, 2004, the CICA aims to promote, all the year, the Cinema in Guyana. Ultimately, its objective is also to train young people and disseminate films and audiovisual works to the general public and professionals of the cinema.

The theme chosen this year is "Haiti and its Diaspora". The sponsor of this event is the Haitian filmmaker Arnold Antonin that will make discover or rediscover the short films "Courage de femme" and "Chronique d'une catastrophe annoncée", "Jacques Roumain la passion d'un pays" and the feature films "Les amours d'un zombi" and "6 femmes d'exception" his latest movie.

Many guests from Haiti, the Caribbean, from the Antilles and Guyana will share their experiences with youth and the general public. Exchanges will take place around round tables with directors and producers. The "Réseau Culture Haïti" and the "Cinéma Itinérant de la Caraïbe" will propose to young some workshops on the professions of filmmaking. Are expected, among others, during this festival: Marc Barrat, Olivier Sagne, Véronique Chainon, Cédric Simoneau, Pélagie Serge Poyotte, Marie-Guyane Stephenson for the Guyana.

The festival will end next Sunday [in Kourou] on the signing of an agreement between the CICA and the center Pétion-Bolivar chaired by Arnold Antonin.
