Haiti - Education : Towards the salary alignment in the DDE
A working meeting was held between Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry of National Education accompanied by the Minister's Office Director, Jackson Pléteau and the departmental directors and human resources managers on the thorny issue of the alignment of the salaries of the employees of the Departmental Education Departments (DDE) with those of the Central Office of the Ministry.

Meniol Jeune and Gasner Jean, the Ministry's Director of Human Resources, provided an update on this issue, which is in its final phase for implementation, noting that the Ministry takes this problem, which disrupts the operation of EDDs, very seriously.

Gasner Jean stressed the need for each Departmental Director to ensure after verification that the lists of the agents concerned are complete, recalling that several employees have already benefited from salary alignment such as guards, housewives, drivers and security agents.

Clarifying that the lists of employees concerned, after signature by the Minister Cadet, will then be forwarded to the Ministry of Economy and Finance with whom a rapid implementation strategy has been agreed for the measure to be effective as soon as possible and promised continuous monitoring of this file once submitted.

Through this approach, the MENFP intends to find a negotiated solution to bring striking employees to understand and lift the strike observed in various DDE including the Center and Artibonite that threaten the future of several thousand candidates to State exams because of delays accumulated in the validation of students and the systematic refusal of collaboration of these employees https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27067-haiti-education-concerns-about-preparations-for-organizing-state-examinations.html
