Learn more about presbyteral schools : These schools, created by priests in some parishes of the Catholic Church across the country, supplement the shortage of school provision at the State level and largely serve disadvantaged urban and rural strata. The first of its kind were established following the convention of August 4, 1913 concluded between the Haitian State and the Catholic Church. It should be noted that the latest survey conducted by the CEEC revealed the existence, at the national level, of 1,140 presbyteral schools attended by just over 602,000 students and mobilizing approximately 8,000 teachers.
