Haiti - Health : Vast operation of quality control of food products in the shops
As part of the week of the inspection, the Directorate of Quality Control and Consumer Protection (DCQPC) of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) announced in a press conference, the launch of a extensive operation of quality control of food products in the metropolitan area.

To this end, thirty inspectors will visit for one week small and large commercial establishments to check including the expiration date and compliance of products intended for human consumption.

MCI Minister Ronell Gilles Minister said that after this week of inspections, the inspectors will remain mobilized and will continue their controls in all supermarkets and food establishments, pointing out that these inspectors were not there to harm merchants but to protect consumers. In addition, he indicated that these operations will be repeated each month.

Roberta Jean Baptiste, the Director General of the DCQPC explained the procedures that will follow the inspectors once in the shops while Dieuseul Lefèvre, the Director of Internal Trade emphasized the orientation of his directorate and announced that a phone number, a Facebook page and an email will soon be made available to the population so that it can report any irregularities found on food products in sales in commercial establishments.
