World Bank : $57 million funding extension for education
The World Bank has approved a $57 million funding extension for the project "For quality education in Haiti". This amount, which has not yet been disbursed, aims, according to the former Minister of National Education Nesmy Manigat, who drew up and introduced this project, to reduce in particular the differences in attendance and retention rates between boys and girls. In addition, this funding will provide strategic technical assistance to the Ministry of National Education to solve funding problems. This amount is funded by the International Development Association (IDA) to the tune of $39 million and by Global Affairs Canada to the tune of $18 million.

Me André Michel protests
"The decision of the Court of Appeal of Cap Haïtien to release the Departmental Delegate of the North, Antonio Jules, following an action Habeas Corpus introduced by his lawyers, is an illegal decision" says Me André Michel who qualifies this decision to "a demonstration of the Executive's hand over the Judiciary. Morally, it's a blow for the Dubois Family and the other victims of the attack on Café Trio."
