Haiti - Politic : France congratulates Michel Martelly
Alain Juppé, the French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, following the announcement of final results of presidential and legislative elections in Haiti has congratulated the President Michel Martelly "While his election to the Presidency of the Republic of Haiti has just been confirmed by the Provisional Electoral Council, I address to Michel Martelly my congratulations and my best wishes for success to the high and difficult mission that the Haitian people entrusted to him.

The Haitian people have shown patience and maturity by demonstrating in recent months its commitment to the electoral process and democracy. This political transition, as desired by voters, generating a lot of hope and must mark a new beginning for Haiti, which still suffers from the aftermath of the earthquake of January 2010 and which must, under the direction of Michel Martelly, carry out its reconstruction and its development.

Michel Martelly, who arouses great expectations, is also facing great responsibilities. He known that he can rely, in the performing its task, on the support of France, under the continued commitment of our country."
