Haiti - Politic : Trainer Training on Accountability
Fednel Monchery, the Director General of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities has conducted a training of trainers seminar, for the benefit of about twenty Coordinators of Territorial Financial Controllers and their assistants, from the 10 departments of Haiti.

The workshops of this seminar focused on accountability were organized by the Ministry through its Directorate of Territorial Communities, with the technical and financial support of the European Union through the Expertise France project.

These executives have strenght their competece on various principles of accountability, particularly with respect to the management of municipal administrative accounts and international accounting standards. They also shared experiences and conducted exercises to refine their daily practice at the level of local authorities.

Fednel Monchery, reiterating the Ministry's willingness to continue to make every effort to ensure the capacity building of municipal officers for the benefit of local populations, emphasized that the Ministry was placing a lot of emphasis on this training, with a view to opening up communities to decentralization, through a strong, healthy, effective and efficient Territorial Public Administration.

At the closing of this seminar, Monchery invited the participants to effectively replicate the knowledge acquired throughout the Corps of Territorial Financial Controllers and the Accounting and Finance Officers of the municipalities.
