Haiti - Elections : Rumors around the decisions of the CEP
The electoral advisers are under pressure from the international community and the opposition members so they confirm, in the best times, the preliminary results, of the parliamentary elections, as recommended by the report of the Joint Mission OAS / CARICOM (JEOM), delivered to the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) last Friday, by Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive. Recommendations that are not shared by the leaders of the ruling platform (INITE) that require the maintenance of the final results.

Gaillot Dorsinvil, the President of the CEP, would have expressed to the international community, in an email dated April 29, his willingness to alter election results announced on April 20. Note that the existence of this correspondence, confirmed by anonymous sources close to diplomatic sources, has not been so far confirmed nor denied by the CEP, an information to take with the usual reservations...

Other local media, probably based on the statements of the last weekend, of senators from the opposition whose Youri Latortue, who denounced several electoral advisers who do not intend to consider the report of the JEOM, do not hesitate to assert that the CEP would have confirmed this refusal to President Préval...

The CEP must decide if it takes into account in whole or in part the recommendations of the JEOM. In its decision, the CEP will be able to avoid a new political crisis ? Nothing is less certain...
