Haiti - Politic : Moïse chairs a Council of Ministers on the great challenges of the moment
Wednesday, November 27, President Jovenel Moïse , chaired a Council of Ministers, around the great challenges of the times.

In addition to the security problems, the Head of State insisted on the need to protect human rights in all circumstances throughout the national territory. To this end, the different Ministers concerned agreed to not only assist the most vulnerable people by offering them new alternatives, through specific social programs, but also to privilege, within the framework of the interventions of the Police and Justice, strategies respecting human dignity and International Conventions, ratified by Haiti.

The President also instructed the Government to take all the measures deemed useful to boost the National Council of Legal Assistance, providing it with competent human resources and financial means, to be more effective in its mission of accompanying citizens in the legal procedures.

In addition, the Council of Ministers, in order to provide a better living environment for citizens, decided to draw up a plan to fight against insalubrity in Port-au-Prince and in the country's major cities. This intervention plan, which brings together all the State actors concerned by the issue, should help create temporary jobs in order to provide a source of income for citizens, especially the most disadvantaged, during the Christmas and New Year period.
