This program to support and strengthen agricultural cooperatives with a view to reviving production, should enable the Government to support the development of agricultural enterprises in this region, in particular through a credit system enabling them to acquire the tools they need and equipment necessary for their efficiency.

In his speech Jocelyn Jean hailed the steps of the Head of State in favor of national production and recalled the many progress already made in the Valley of Artibonite for strengthening domestic production. The agronomist cited in particular the cleaning works of the irrigation canals, the good quality seeds, the rice packing services, the organization of the production through these 49 cooperatives, the organization of the irrigation through 16 irrigators' associations, as well as water and equipment management within ODVA.

For his part, Raoul Pierre-Louis stressed the lack of funding in this sector, he announced that the BNC will grant loans for the marketing of fertilizer up to 282 million gourdes, which will be distributed according to demand Cooperatives, at a rate not exceeding 6% per annum, variable according to the circular and whose repayment term should not exceed 4 months.

President Moïse urges borrowers to be serious and honorably honor their obligations to the bank and take advantage of this launch to announce the return of the National Bank for Agricultural Development (BNDA) which will be represented throughout the country by 95 Communal Agricultural Banks in total, which will facilitate farmers' access to credit.
