Haiti - Politic : Moïse dialogues at the National Palace with 28 community leaders
Sunday at the National Palace, as part of the launch of the program "Community Dialogue" broadcast on the National Radio of Haiti (RNH), President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied among others by Jean Roudy Aly, the Minister
of Justice and Public Security, Chesnel Pierre, Director General of the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA) and Ernest Chatelier General Director of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) met with community leaders from 28 neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince, Delmas and Cité Soleil.

The objective of this program is to bring together community leaders, for a better understanding of the problems facing the populations. The Head of State apologized to the participants for not having decided to dialogue with them earlier, so that they could meet the needs of their neighborhoods.

During the exchanges, Moïse renewed his commitment to put an end to what he calls the "Sistem peze souse a" which, according to him, has almost all the wealth of the country. "If you want to do something for the country, there is people you have to put aside [...] Those who don't want to put themselves aside, I made the decision to force them to put themselves aside," he said.

The problems presented by community leaders for their respective areas concern for the most part, unemployment, security, hunger, electricity, access to health care, access to decent housing, access to credit for traders and young people, sanitation, vocational training...

"Electricity is an essential element for the development of a country [...] the problems of which the insalubrity and insecurity are enormous and the work is extremely difficult [...] with the Community Organizations of Bases, the State will have to intervene in different spheres of activity at the neighborhood level," added President Jovenel Moïse, taking up his slogan "Ti rès la se pou pep la" replied Moïse

Regarding security, Minister Aly confirmed that a security plan is in place to allow the population to go about their business freely for the holiday season.

Chesnel Pierre, announced that ONA had already made available as part of the "ONA-FANM" program more than 300 million gourdes of credit to merchants since its launch in August 2017. Adding his institution was ready to support several groups of companies specializing in the manufacture of swimsuits at "Cité Okay" on the airport road.

For his part, Ernest Chatelier responding to the grievances of community leaders who are calling for the reopening of community restaurants in neighborhoods where people are hungry, reiterated the commitment of his institution to support the most vulnerable layers of the population using 3 of its social programs "Restoran kominotè, Kantin mobil and Panye Solidarite" and gave the guarantee to set up on the instructions of the Head of State, 775 community restaurants (400 are already reopened and in operation).

Finally Moïse took the opportunity to remind all his detractors to wait until the end of his mandate on February 7, 2022 to ask him questions.
