Haiti - Security : Violence after the assassination of a police officer
On the morning of January 12, several houses were set on fire at Boulevard Jean Jacques Dessalines near Street Carbone, after the assassination of a police officer who was participating in a party in the area.

Julien Roubens, an officer of the Haitian National Police (PNH) assigned to the Motorized Intervention Brigade (BIM), was allegedly killed by a motel security officer on the night from Saturday 11 to Sunday January 12, 2020, he received several projectiles following an altercation between the two men.

To avenge the man who lived at Boulevard Jean Jacques Dessalines, individuals close to the victim arrived in the area and set fire to several houses on Grand-Rue, including Carbone Street, the area where the security guard had family. Shots were also heard at the time of revenge. At least two vehicles were also set on fire by the agent's relatives.
