Moïse will not negotiate his mandate
On the sidelines of the Jacmel Carnival, President Jovenel Moïse declared that he did not intend to negotiate the duration of his mandate and that he will remain in power until February 7, 2022 "I say to all the political actors who listen that I have 1 year, 11 months and a few days left in power. Those who aspire to lead the country must already enter the electoral campaign [...]". Calling again for dialogue, he warned that he did not intend to spend the rest of his mandate negotiating with the opposition, adding that it was not a threat but that he was coming when a responsible President must take the necessary decisions.

Cap-Haitien : Resignation to the Carnival Committee
At least 7 days before the start of the Cap-Haitien Carnival, Urlande A. Étienne, the President of the Organizing Committee for Carnival 2020 in a letter sent to Marc Georges, President of the Coordination Committee, has resigned, saying that it was up to him impossible to organize a grand carnival to meet the expectations of Capois.
