Haiti - Security : Women more and more important in the PNH
Friday as a prelude to International Women's Day (March 8), at the invitation of the National Coordination of Women's Affairs (CNAF) of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the Director General ai, Rameau Normil, participated in the closing of a reflection workshop focused on strengthening the capacities of women for more efficiency in their work within the police institution in the context of their decision-making.

Policewomen from the ranks of several promotions and different Units of the PNH welcomed the presence of the Commander-in-Chief ai who, according to them, demonstrated significant recognition of the women evolving, at all levels within the PNH.

In his intervention before an audience made up of policewomen from all the National Police units, Rameau Normil declared "My presence at your side, it is to show you the great interest that I take in the question of gender within our institution."

For Normil, the date of March 8 is a strong symbol honoring women in order to highlight their achievements and contributions, emphasizing the crucial role played by women in the great struggles for emancipation and liberation, citing in particular , Sanite Bel-Air [real name Suzanne Belair, (1781-1802), revolutionary and officer in the Haitian army of Toussaint Louverture], the intrepid Marie Jeanne Lamartinière [a personality from the Haitian Revolution who distinguished herself during the battle of the Fort de la Crête at Pierrot in 1802], and the Empress Claire Heureuse [wife of Jean-Jacques Dessalines who became known during the siege of Jacmel (1800) for her work on behalf of the wounded and the hungry]

Normil expressed his desire to promote the advancement of women at all levels of the hierarchy, saying "The PNH remains open to welcome women [...] More space will be given to women within the PNH."

While saluting certain women occupying important positions within the police institution, he announced, in the very near future that other women will be promoted to Commissioners-decision-makers and why not Departmental Directors and this at all levels, an announcement strongly applauds the policewomen.

Concluding his intervention by wishing "Happy March 8 to all women, especially those working for the PNH."
