Haiti - Reconstruction : A new school and a health center in Poteau
The Japanese Engineering Company of the MINUSTAH, in collaboration with U.S. troops in Haiti as part of the program "Task Force Bon Vwazen" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-2670-haiti-humanitarian-the-first-american-soldiers-are-arrived.html have launched the construction work of a school and a health center in Poteau [funded by the U.S. Army] in the fourth communal section of Gonaives. The town of Poteau is devoid of health infrastructure. The inhabitants, for treatment, must go to Ennery, a neighboring town, or in the downtown of the Gonaives.A situation that is about to be solved.

The Japanese Engineering Company of the Minustah and the U.S. military of the humanitarian mission "Task Force Bon Vwazen" have joined their forces to provide the town of Poteau of these two vital infrastructure for the community. A initiative welcomed by the residents of Poteau.

"Our friends from the U.S. Army have provided us with the necessary equipment and we put our expertise and experience at their disposal. This is a good partnership and the Haitians are the real beneficiaries," said Major Maki Chonan, spokesman of Japanese contingent.

The realization of this project is in addition to the list of the engineering work of Japanese contingent deployed in Haiti since February 2010, which includes among others, the rehabilitation of roads, the development of sites for temporary shelters, building demolition and debris removal, mong others. The Major Maki Chonan welcomed these actions "Our actions are very fast because we have the resources and experience. All our staff are happy to serve the government and the Haitian people."
