Haiti - Elections : Preliminary results of Sunday's byelections
Yesterday, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has published the preliminary results of the second round of parliamentary byelections held Sunday, May 29, 2011, in the Constituencies of Fond-Verrettes/Ganthier, la Vallée de Jacmel and Verrettes.

For Fond-Verrettes/Ganthier (West), there were 132 Minutes included on 134, 14,944 valid votes / choice expressed, 39 valid votes / no candidate and 508 invalid votes.

Sanozier François (Alternative) 7,496 votes 50.03%
Pierre Jude Destiné (INITE) 7,448 votes / 47.71%
No candidate 39 / 0.26%


For la Vallée de Jacmel (South East), there were 61 Minutes included on 61, 11,276 valid votes / choice expressed, 40 valid votes / no candidate and 418 invalid votes.

Labbé Ruffine (Ansanm Nou Fo) 6,946 votes / 61.38%
Valentin Jean Edzer (INITE) 4,330 votes / 38.26%
No candidate 40 / 0.35%


For Verettes (Artibonite), there were 130 inutes included on 130, 9,047 valid votes / choice expressed, 42 valid votes / no candidate and 580 invalid votes.

Dérilus Vikens (MODELH-PRDH) 4,900 votes / 53.91%
Dorsonne Jean Beauvois (AAA) 4,147 votes / 45,63%
No candidate 42 / 0.56%


The CEP reminds to the candidates concerned these results who wish to produce challenges are invited to do it in the Departmental Electoral Offices (BED) of their respective jurisdictions within seventy-two (72) hours which begins immediately upon posting of the results.
