Haiti - USA : Note of the American Embassy on the death of George Floyd
Following the death of George Floyd, during a police intervention in Minneapolis (Minnesota, USA) which sparked outrage, numerous demonstrations of solidarity, but also riots of looting in the United States but also in others countries the American Embassy in Haiti in a note, joins all calls from around the world to condemn the death of this Afro-American citizen.

Note of the American Embassy :
"The U.S. Embassy in Haiti expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and community of George Floyd. As our country was founded on the rule of law, the U.S. Department of Justice has announced a full criminal investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Floyd’s death. As Secretary Pompeo said of George Floyd’s death: “It’s a tragedy. The police officers’ actions there were abhorrent.” We join the calls around the world to condemn this act.

The U.S. Embassy in Haiti is acutely aware of the grief and trauma weighing heavily on our U.S. Mission, our nation, and our Haitian friends and partners. We remain committed to combatting racism, celebrating diversity as a strength, while always promoting the values of freedom, equality, and justice for all."
