The Japanese Embassy concerned
The Japanese Embassy in Haiti has learned with concern that the number of deaths from Covid-19 now stands at 105 https://www.haitilibre.com/article-https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31172-haiti-covid-19-daily-report-july-1-2020.html and presents its sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the families of the victims. The Embassy also takes this opportunity to salute the courage, professionalism and respectful dedication of all the people and entities involved in the fight against Covid-19 in Haiti, in particular, the doctors, nurses and all the medical and technical teams from the Ministry of Public Health and national and international partners.

Release of 16 passengers taken hostage
Fritz Gérald Désir, an official of the Haiti-Trans transport company, announced the release of the 16 passengers of the public transport minibus from Cap-Haitien, hijacked Monday by bandits in Morne-à-Cabris. Passengers stripped of all their belongings were found safe and sound.

NOTICE : Resumption of academic activities at ESIH
The Management of the École Supérieure Infotronique d'Haïti (ESIH) informs students that the final exams for the first session are scheduled from Wednesday July 15, 2020 to Tuesday July 21, 2020 and the resumption of classes on Monday August 3, 2020. All the measures will be taken so that the sanitary principles are respected through the barrier gestures, namely :

Each student must wear his mask at all times within the institution;
The minimum physical distance of 1 meter (with wearing of the mask) must be respected;
Groupings and hugs are prohibited;
Students must be in possession of hydroalcoholic gel;

The second semester should end in November 2020, which will allow students to finish their year with minimal delay and thus avoid losing an academic year. In addition, the new academic year at ESIH will start in January 2021 and end in August 2021.

Supply of medical equipment
As part of the strengthening of health institutions at the level of the North West Health Department (DSNO), this department received from the Ministry of Public Health a batch of materials containing : 5 operating tables, 2 incubators and 16 beds consultations.

Continuation of food distributions
Tuesday, June 30, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) continued to distribute dry rations in the metropolitan region: Pèlerin, Morne Lazarre, Jalousie (Pétion-Ville); Cité 9 / Caridad, Canapé-vert, Haut Fort National (Port-au-Prince); Delmas 3, Delmas 95 / Pitimi, Catalpa (Delmas); Lakou Bastien, Carrefour Beudet, Bon Repos (Croix-des-Bouquets, are the main areas that have been served as part of food distribution to vulnerable people.
