Haiti - Politic : The record of the Prime Minister-designate is complete
The process of ratification of the Prime Minister-designate Daniel Gérard Rouzier has finally been launched yesterday Wednesday with the filing of required documents, to the parliamentary committee responsible of their review. However, this first step in the process of ratification could not be completed yesterday, in the absence of three documents.

The Senator Francky Exius, of Parliamentary Group for Renewal (GPR), hich has the majority in the Upper House. Insists to obtain the passport of the Prime Minister-designate. Otherwise, he warns... the parliamentarians will be forced to take the necessary decision... Reacting to this request, the Sen. Youri Latortue has reminded to the Sen. Exius that the passport is not part of the mandatory documents to provide in the process of ratification. Daniel Gérard Rouzier indicated that would send a copy of his passport to meet this demand.

Regarding the absence of a tax clearance, stating the payment of taxes rental of his second home, Mr Rouzier said he had not provided this document, given that this house had collapsed during the earthquake of January 2010 and that it was only a land he owned.

The third piece missing is the letter of appointment as Honorary Consul of Jamaica in Port-au-Prince whose he resigned. As such, he provides his letter of resignation from this position.

"All documents requested have been handed to parliamentarians" explained a member of the cabinet of Mr. Rouzier. The first concerned, Mr Rouzier has declared "the documents are what they are I give myself to their sagacity [the Members of the Commission] so they can take their decision and do what they have to do, they have legal prerogatives [...] I think that they will do their job properly."

Concerning this first step of ratification, Saurel Jacinthe, President of the House of Deputies declared "according to the list of documents that the Prime Minister-designate had to handed us, he gave the whole list. At the level of the passport, we believe that if the he has a criminal records extract, it is that he has a passport, he said that he will send it to us, therefore we have no problem on this point. At the level of the tax clearance of rental tax, we are clear, he has business and he gave his tax clearance, at the level of his second home, it collapsed, so it's a land he has and he is not able to provide this document [quitus tax rental], we understand that and we agree with him. Finally, in the letter of appointment as Honorary Consul of Jamaica in Haiti, the essential, it is that he gave his resignation letter [...] we believe that he handed us all the documents that we asked, except three, he gave us explanations, that we have understand.

In all, on the 21 documents, he gave us 18 documents [...] For the three we made considerations, and we believe that in terms of common sense, he is normal to say that the record is complete, complete with a passport that he must send us [...] At the level of the other documents, we can not say if there are problems, I think that he has complied in the procedure, so we, as an Bureau, as President we will call the Commission and we will handover the documents to them, , so they can study them.

How long will it take? Well, the Commission will take the necessary time to give us a report. When the report will be completed, we will kept the press informed, so that the Nation will know, according to the documents, if we agree or not."
