Haiti - Security : Drastic rationing of electricity and consequences 29/07/2020 09:45:42
"The metropolitan area is severely affected following the outbreak of protest movements by the Union of Employees of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) which contests the appointment of Michel Présumé as the new Director General of the Institution." Me Hedouville expresses his deepest concerns about the harmful consequences of this situation on small and medium-sized businesses, on the communication sector (radios, televisions, online media) and especially on hospitals whose operating conditions are becoming very difficult since the appearance of Covid-19 in the country. He underlines an increase in cases of rape, armed robberies and robberies especially in the evening, the black-out favoring acts of banditry. " In addition, he asks the General Directorate of ED'H through its Commercial Department to avoid unfairly charging its customers for services not provided as is common practice in Haiti.
