Haiti - FLASH : The next Haitian passport will be biometric, what is changing now

Tuesday, Joseph Cianciulli the Director of Immigration and Emigration announced that in order to comply with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in terms of travel documents, since Monday a new system of biometric document control has been installed at all air and land border crossings
In addition, Jean Osselin Lambert, Director of Technology for the Immigration and Emigration Service announced that Haitians will soon be provided with a biometric passport.
For his part, Audain Fils Bernadel, the Minister of the Interior has warned that from now on all applicants for a passport (new application or renewal) must go to an Immigration office for biometric data entry.
