Haiti - Politic : «Corruption undermines the foundations of the rule of law» dixit Jovenel Moïse
On the occasion of the International Day against Corruption, yesterday Wednesday, December 9, organized by the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) at the Hotel Montana, under the theme "restore with integrity", the President of the Republic Jovenel Moïse reminded that corruption undermines the foundations of the rule of law and encourages tax fraud...

"[...] The celebration of the international day of the fight against Corruption is not trivial. It is the testimony of a desire to sensitize States, whether rich or poor, on the devastating consequences of this scourge.

Corruption, when it reigns supreme, deprives society of schools, hospitals, infrastructure and discourages foreign investors. It undermines the foundations of the rule of law and encourages tax fraud and human trafficking.

Corruption, an evil from which Haiti suffers the perverse effects, fosters insecurity, criminality and the diversion of resources essential for sustainable development. Today, the country should be proud to see that this battle against corruption is waged at the grassroots, in its foundations, even in its roots deeply rooted in our traditions.

I know how much we Haitians love this country. I know how good we feel when we are at home in Haiti. So let's make this country a place where life is good and beautiful. Let’s work to regain our pride as a people."

Also on this day the ULCC took the opportunity to award plaques of honor and merit, to the former President of the Republic of Haiti HE Mr. Boniface Alexandre, Mrs. Marilyn B. Allen director of the Heritage Foundation for Haiti, Mrs. Odette Roy Fombrun President of the Odette Roy Fombrun Foundation and Magistrate Eddy Darrag, judge at the Port au Prince Court of Appeal, for their commitments in the fight against corruption in Haiti.
