Canada : Moïse discusses Constitution...
On December 10 at the National Palace, President Moïse met with the Canadian Ambassador to Haiti, Stuart Savage. Discussions focused on human rights, food security, gender equity, the draft Constitution and the organization of the next elections.

Election calendar : The US State Department reassured
"I was pleased with the assurance given by Bocchit Edmond [Haitian Ambassador to Washington] that an electoral calendar for the already overdue legislative elections in Haiti would soon be announced," said Michael G. Kozak, Acting Assistant Secretary in the Office of Western Hemisphere Affairs at the US Department of State.

Contraband : Seizure of cigarettes from Haiti
Members of the Specialized Border Security Corps (Cesfront), agents of the Dominican National Police and customs arrested five men and seized more than 1.3 million units of cigarettes smuggled into Dominican territory from the North coast, by sea from Haiti.

Drug trafficking on île à Vache
Thursday during a police operation on Île à Vache (Dept, South) 7 individuals were arrested, they are : Jean Jonel Célestin (48), Jean Claude Célestin, Onel Silien born in 1965, Josué Saint-Cyr (52), Pierre Junel Mésidor (39), Franckel Joassaint and Lucknor Pierre. 2.3 kg of Cocaine and a large sum of cash in US currency and Gourdes were seized. The 7 individuals are accused of illicit drug trafficking.

80% of women with disabilities in the country abused
Four out of 5 women (80%) with disabilities are said to be victims of physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence in Haiti.

Closure of the Montreal Consulate
The Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal is informing the Haitian community in particular and the general public that its offices will be closed for the holiday season, from December 23, 2020 to January 6, 2021.
