Haiti - Politic : Martelly in Spain for a business forum on Haiti
Michel Martelly, the President of the Republic, has left the country this Wednesday, July 6, 2011 for a three-day visit in Spain (Martelly cut short his tour https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3319-haiti-politic-martelly-cut-short-his-tour.html)

The President of the Republic has decided to cut short his trip to Europe to focus on other internal priorities including the nomination and ratification of a new Head of Government.

During this trip, the President will discuss of an increase of Spanish aid to Haiti in the areas related to drinking water and sanitation. Spain is the third largest contributor in terms of bilateral cooperation with Haiti and this will be an opportunity for the President and his team to discuss of the opportunities for assistance in areas related to housing construction.

On this occasion, the Head of State will meet, among others with, the King of Spain Juan Carlos, the Prime Minister José Luis Zapatero, and with 250 other personalities within the framework of a business forum on Haiti.

Enhance the image of Haiti abroad and restore the confidence of the business community, in order to encourage the investments, are priorities for the President of the Republic, which intends to do it with dynamism and determination.
