Haiti - Justice : Police operation to the CEP, they were not there
Yesterday, Thursday police officers of the Office of Research and Intervention (BRI), a specialized body of the National Police of Haiti have invested the premises of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), following the summonses issued against the President of the CEP, Gaillot Dorsinvil, and two advisers, Ribel Pierre and Leonel Raphaël by the Government Commissioner.

"...Since the law puts at our disposal what we call, the summons, we will force them to come to the public prosecutor so that we can hear them on the facts alleged against them [...] We gave instructions to the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) to apprehend and bring it as is, to the public prosecutor, the named Gaillot Dorsinvil, Ribel Pierre and Leonel Raphaël..." had declared the Government Commissioner Sonel Jean-François last week.

The three persons wanted were not in their office or in the building when the police arrived. Pierre-Louis Opont has allowed to the agents of the order to verify by themselves the absence of the advisers.

The lawyer of Gaillot Dorsinvil, Me Renold Georges has informed that the convocation of an electoral adviser is not within the jurisdiction of the prosecution, relying on Article 195 of the Constitution in force, he explains that an electoral adviser has to answer only before the High Court of Justice.
