Haiti - Gonaïves : 7 buses of the company «Le Transporteur» destroyed by fire
On the night of Tuesday 2 to Wednesday 3 August in Gonaïves, a violent fire, whose the causes remain unknown for the moment, broke out a little before midnight in the space used as a garage for the public transport company "Le Transporteur" located behind the waiting room of the company's passenger terminal.

At the time of the fire, around ten vehicles including 8 buses were in the parking, some in service, others immobilized for maintenance. Thanks to the intervention of a driver, one bus was only partially damaged, the other 7 were completely destroyed by fire.

In the absence of a rapid response from the firefighters, it was the residents who tried to extinguish the fire... Note that the company building was spared by the flames.

The damage is extensive and is being assessed by company officials. Yesterday morning 2 employees of the company were heard as witnesses by the justice.
