Haiti - Politic : Michel Martelly has visited the President Leonel Fernández
The President Michel Martelly has made ​​yesterday Tuesday, a visit of several hours, in Dominican Republic [the first visit as President of Haiti]. Arrive at 2:00 pm, accompanied by the Dominican ambassador in Haiti, Ruben Silié, his Chief of Staff Me Thierry Mayard Paul and his adviser Damian Merlo, the President Martelly was welcomed on the steps of the Presidential Palace by the President Leonel Fernández.

During a meeting that lasted a little over two hours, attended by the Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso, César Pina Toribio, Minister of the Presidency and the Ambassador of Haiti in Dominican Republic Fritz Cineas, the both leaders reiterated their commitment to work together in the interest of both countries which share the island and the President Fernández has renewed his vows regarding the success of the administration Martelly. They also had a meeting on bilateral relations, the process of ratification of a Prime Minister in Haiti and the preparations to the approach of the storm Emily.

The Ambassador of Haiti Fritz Cinéas said that it was a good initiative that the two presidents maintain good communication and that the road works in the border area, in poor condition have been addressed, adding that another meeting is scheduled for August 11 to discuss more particularly of the situation of the road between Jimani and Malpasse, often flooded by the overflow of Lake Azuei, in Haiti, which affect the trade between the two nations.
