Friday, December 24, 52 boat people of Haitian origin aboard an old wooden sailboat bearing the inscription "Blood of Jesus" were intercepted by the US border patrol in Key Largo, Florida. The group included 4 children and around 15 people required medical attention, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said. In a separate interception, federal agents said 9 migrants of Haitian descent also made landfall that same day in Fort Lauderdale.
