Haiti - Education : Resumption of school activities at the National School of Cité-Soleil
This Monday, January 17, 2022, school activities resume at the National School of Cité-Soleil, closed at the start of the 2019-2020 academic year due to armed violence which endangered students, teaching staff and administrative, informs us the Ministry of National Education.

While waiting for the reopening, the children had been redirected, to the National School Republic of Guatemala in Drouillard, and to the Saint-Vincent de Paul Cultural Center in Boston (Cité-Soleil).

For more than a month and a half, parents, notables from the Boston neighborhood, supervised by the Ministry of National Education and the Educational Community Police (EduPol). discussed and agreed on the need to reopen the doors of the National School of Cité-Soleil to nearly 300 children, from preschool to the 7th fundamental year this Monday, January 17, 2022.

The Ministry salutes all those who have worked towards this outcome and reiterates its determination to support communities wishing to restore the right of children to go to school in complete peace of mind.
