Haiti - Ozone : Inauguration of the «Refrigeration Laboratory» of the Ministry of the Environment
As a prelude to World Environment Day this Sunday, June 5, 2022, James Cadet the Minister of the Environment launched this week the month of the Environment in Haiti which will take place around the theme "An offering to Mother Earth / Onè respè pou manman latè”.

The month of the environment in Haiti provides for a vast program of activities including: the inauguration of three environmental kiosks for the control and transit of waste in three public markets; the inauguration of two green libraries; the publication of the first environmental magazine of the Ministry "Kalson Wouj Magazine"; the launch of the "Eco-Engineering" program and the "Eco-Challenge" reforestation campaign as well as several conference debates.

On the sidelines of the launch of the month of the Environment, Minister Cadet took the opportunity to launch the emergency operation plan for waste management throughout the national territory, inaugurate the "Refrigeration Laboratory" of the Ministry and launch a three-day training session for 30 young people who will be trained in good practices and the mastery of ecological cold technologies that have no impact on the ozone layer and the climate.

For her part, Mrs. Marie Lourdes Maura, the Director of the National Ozone Office (BNO), stressed that this laboratory will have the possibility of serving all the technical training centers without such a structure and considered "This critical mass trained refrigeration technicians, represents a major asset for the country in its contribution to the protection of the ozone layer."
