Haiti - Insecurity : 2 new victims including one child kidnapping
Yesterday afternoon, in the area of Varreux, Ms. Marie Collin, Human Resources Manager of the Brasserie de La Couronne was murdered, she would have received 3 bullets, while she was driving her car to return in her home. The motives of this crime are not known.

Also yesterday, a girl of only 4 years Darolina Bien-Aimé was kidnapped after the intrusion of gunmen in the residence of her parents to Laboule 15. The latter have been threatened with death by these individuals before leaving with the girl. Witnesses said that a shooting had also taken place. At present we do not know if there was a ransom demand. Police launched a search operation, the police currently working on four other cases, including that of a child.

Yesterday Michel-Ange Gédéon, Head of the Departmental Direction of the West (DDO), indicated that the number of kidnappings was decreasing "...for the month of May we had 12 cases of kidnapping, five in June, so you see a reduction of over 50%, for themonth of July we had four cases and in August we have four cases... so it's to tell you that contrary to the trend who would like to make believe that there is a rebound of the acts of banditry in the capital, the figures that we have available at the DDO translate clearly the contrary..."
