Haiti - Reconstruction : Spain considers that the absence of a government is prejudicial
The Spanish Ambassador in Haiti, Manuel Hernández Ruigómez, met Tuesday the President Martelly, at the National Palace to discuss of the bilateral questions between the two countries.

On leaving the meeting, the Ambassador declared that the lack of Prime Minister had a great influence on the country and that Spain, as the international community need of a Government, a interlocutor with whom they can take decisions about the reconstruction of Haiti.

The diplomat stressed that currently the President had only his cabinet which greatly limits the important decisions. He also stressed that since the accession to power of President Martelly, the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) had had only one meeting instead of three. Recalling that the IHRC, serves to channel the money that the international community is committed to providing to Haiti in the coming years, the Ambassador considers in the absence of a Government, that the situation deadlocked, which is prejudicial for Haiti.
