Haiti - Education : Advanced training in operations and port management
Haiti participates in the 25th seminar of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) of advanced training in operations and port management currently taking place in Le Havre [France]. The event, organized by Port Institute of Education and Research (IPER) and the Grand Port Maritime du Havre (GPMH), at the request of the French government, under the auspices of the IMO, brings together each year to Le Havre the actors from the maritime and port world coming from the international emerging countries. For its 25th edition, this seminar hosts from September 15 to October 12, twenty participants from all backgrounds including Haiti.

The objective is to enable participants to improve the efficiency of the management and operation of their respective ports by reviewing the different port functions and deepening the unique perspectives of emerging countries. For this, courses, visits and meetings with professionals of port of Le Havre are made. Olivier de la Laurencie, Director of Operations and Member of the Board of GPMH, recalled that the seminar was also an opportunity to share the experience of each trainee : "Much more than a transmission of knowledge and of techniques, this seminar has established over the years, a veritable network within the international port community. The participants, each having important responsibilities in the port bodies, will be able to exchange and share their own experiences."
