Haiti - U20 World Cup : Our Grenadières deprived of the playoffs, brutal end of dream
The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) informs the big football family and the general public that the U-20 women's selection will not be able to take part in the first phase of the FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifiers in Curaçaobecause they were unable to obtain entry visas in time for this country.

Let's remember that this first eliminatory phase, where our young Grenadières had to face the Bahamas, Saint-Martin, Curaçao and Panama, was initially to take place in the Dominican Republic but subsequently, the Group in which Haiti was found was relocated to Curaçao which made it more complicated for Haiti to obtain travel documents, visas being issued only at the Consulate of Curaçao in the neighboring Republic.

The players' passports were sent to Santo Domingo via the Curaçao consulate in Pétion-ville.

However, given the abnormal slowness in the process and despite the intervention of Concacaf to obtain entry authorization for our passports, the process seemed paralyzed at the Consulate of Curaçao in the Dominican Republic.

CONCACAF then issued via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Curaçao a travel authorization for our Grenadières (whose tickets were ready), an approach that did not help much, in the impossibility of recovering the passports of our players, which were kept by the Consulate of Curaçao for unexplained reasons...

A great disappointment for all those who dreamed of a feat similar to that of 2018…

Despite this huge disappointment, the Haitian Football Federation calls on the population and the lovers of the ball, to support the national selections engaged in international competitions in order to make the national bicolor and Haitian football float high...

The FHF remains focused on the many current and future activities:

  • The participation of the senior women's team in the Australia-News 2023 World Cup;
  • The Gold Cup 2023;
  • The Concacaf boys' U15 championship where Haiti will be represented by the grenadiers who won the CFU Challenge Series competition in 2022;
  • Haiti's participation in the Central Americas Games in El Salvador;
  • The Women's Gold Cup, the draw for which will be held in May 2023;
  • The Concacaf Nations League without forgetting the 2026 World Cup qualifiers;
  • The relaunch of the Club Licensing process;
  • The overhaul of the FHF statutes.
