Haiti - Environment : Launch of the Multisectoral Emergency Program in the Northeast
During the meeting of the departmental environmental table of the North-East, the Departmental Directorate officially launched the Multisectoral Emergency Program for the Appeasement and Social Reintegration of Vulnerable Groups (PUMARSGV)

In his speech, Luckin Charles, Departmental Environment Director for the North-East, specified that within the framework of the program, particular emphasis is placed on the Vallières watershed and took the opportunity to list the various scheduled activities.

- Erection of thresholds;
- Construction of dry walls;
- Installation of living ramps (Planting of Vetiver, hedgerow etc.);
- Planting seedlings (Bamboo, fruit and forest trees);
- Construction of retaining walls;
- Coastal sanitation (cleaning of coastal areas);
- Manufacture of artisanal trash cans;
- Production of compost.

He said that through this Program, the Ministry will create more than 250 jobs in the department, over a period of 150 days.

The Multisectoral Emergency Program for the Appeasement and Social Reintegration of Vulnerable Groups is a government program that aims to mitigate the effects of the socio-economic crisis on the population. Financed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to the tune of 21.6 billion Gourdes, the program is executed by the Ministries of Social Affairs, Agriculture, Public Works, Environment, National Education, Commerce and the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES).
