Haiti - Politic : Garry Conille, not before next week to the Lower House
Yesterday the Grouping of Parliamentarians for Change, commonly known as G58, the new functional majority of the Lower House, which replaced the Group of Parliamentarians for Renewal (GPR), met as part of the approval process of the general policy of the new Prime Minister, Dr. Garry Conille. The Deputy Abel Descolines (LAVNI) member of this majority explained

"...the meeting we had, is a meeting that enters within the framework of the approval process of the general policy of the Prime Minister Garry Conille and also for the group can make an overview on the situation. We have not yet made a preliminary vote [...] the majority of deputies of the G58, wish strongly hat there is a meeting that brings together the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister before the process of presentation of the policy statement in the House of Deputies. For now, we have no date [for the presentation session], however at the Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies he is discussed that the letter be sent to the Prime Minister by the end of the week, most likely it's a session that can be made next week.

Probably Monday or Tuesday, following the evolution there is in the talks, in the exchanges between the deputies and authorities at the level of the executive branch [...] it is important that this meeting be made to obtain clarification and to have clear and accurate information about the composition of the ministerial cabinet [...] The G58 group has claims that it wants to express in an institutional way, formally to the President of the Republic and to his Prime Minister. We hope that this meeting be made shortly, until then, we will deliberate on the position that we will adopt in this session of Statement of General Policy of the Prime Minister [...] We're willing to move forward, however, we require that institutionally, there are explanations that are given to the parliamentarians who are called to take major decisions for the people they represent. They want to decide knowingly and does not want to know who will be minister, State Secretary at the time of the meeting of general policy statement."

For his part, the Deputy Jean Tholbert Alexis, leader of the GPR indicated "the President of the National Assembly should write to the Canadian authorities in order to clarify if the new Prime Minister is or not of a Canadian citizen, we expect that response and we expect also the copy of the policy statement of Prime Minister."
