Haiti - Justice : Installation of Me. Josué Pierre-Louis to the MJSP, the President said he's a victim
Yesterday the new Minister of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), Me Josué Pierre-Louis was installed in his function in replacement of Paul Denis, who had resigned in June for reasons of "personal convenience", leaving the interim to Jean-Max Bellerive. "This inauguration ceremony gives me the pleasant opportunity to testify to His Excellency the President of the Republic the expression of my deep gratitude for having entrusted me a ministerial portfolio of strategic importance for the success of its policy in matters of justice and public safety. Mr. President, I give you the firm, total and unconditional assurance that you will not be disappointed [...]

I access in effect to this high function at an important juncture in the history of national institutions, in the context of major reforms set in motion by the Head of State I have a responsibility to drive reforms that are crucial in the evolution of our country in the sense of respect for fundamental rights of the person and the consolidation of the rule of law [...]" declared the new Minister of Justice on the occasion of the installation ceremony, adding "the development and adoption of a new law on the organization and functioning of the Ministry of Justice is now an urgent and essential priority, to this is added the second part of competence namely the Public Security in all its aspects" then the new Minister has invited "all the public servants of the Ministry, the police officers, prison officers, and court staff to work with enthusiasm and professionalism to the success of this major project for the good of all, namely the establishment of a rule of law in Haiti."

For his part the President of the Republic took the opportunity to talk about the defamation he's the victim "since we are talking of justice I would like today to introduce me as victim I must tell you that I have often heard on the radio things that were not true, at the level of government, the Presidency, we never angry because we understand that today in Haiti is an exercise of democracy but it is still not well understood by all sectors of the population [...] I must tell you that lying or saying anything on a a person is called defamation..." then the President asked simply to all sectors to "promote the work of the Ministry of Justice because the Ministry can not fix everything [...] we must already changed our way of doing, how we think, act, do not say anything because if there were a justice in Haiti today I would have already filed a complaint saying that I am abused, mistreated... but as I understand the situation and that I am a fighter, a strong man I would say simply that me for my part I will continue my fight and you guys help me to make of the Ministry of Justice, a ministry at the height of the task. Thank you."
