On his official account "X" (formerly Twitter) Martelly wrote "In respect of the law and the judicial authority of my country, I presented myself today before Judge Walther W Voltaire as part of the investigation on the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. While complying with the secrecy of the investigation, I took the opportunity to express to the investigating magistrate my full support for the investigation; I also expressed my strong desire that justice can find and punish the culprits of this heinous crime. " Note that despite the numerous hearings of Judge Walter W. Voltaire (the 6th judge to hear this case since 2021), no person has been charged.
