Haiti - Education : Inauguration of the Boisrond Tonnerre high school in Anse-à-Veau
This week, Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education, inaugurated the Lycée National Boisrond Tonnerre in Anse-à-Veau in the presence of, among others, the Director General of the National Education Fund (FNE) Jean Ronald Joseph, of the current President of the Rotary Club of Port-au-Prince Carvèz Jean, departmental and municipal representatives of the region and high school students.

In his remarks for the occasion, Minister Nesmy financed via the Rotary Club of Port-au-Prince and the support of the General Management of the FNE, which led the talks to realize this project.

Minister Nesmy Manigat took the opportunity to announce the introduction during this 2023-2024 school year, of physical and sports education courses in all public schools in the country.

The former President of the Rotary Club of Port-au-Prince, Gina Joachim, thanked the FNE for facilitating the first discussions which led to the realization of the project. While recalling that the funds for the construction of the high school came from the German firm VERIDOS, Gina Joachim specified that the engineering work was carried out in compliance with standards under the supervision of the Ministry.

At the end of the inauguration, the Minister accompanied by the Director General of the FNE, visited the construction site of the National School of Lessard located between the municipalities of Arnaud and Anse-à-Veau. The delegation spoke with the technical team about the progress of this new school infrastructure, which is 90% complete and whose provisional acceptance will take place soon.
