New data from report indicate that life expectancy is now 62.1 years, compared with 50.6 in 1980, 59.1 in 2000 and 61 in 2008. Education Regarding the literacy rate among those over 15 years it is of 48.7%, compared to 53.7% in 2000 and 34.7% in 1980. The average duration of schooling is 4.9 years with a gross enrollment rate of 27%. Health Concerning expenditure in health they are of the order of 1.2% of GDP. The mortality rate among children under five is 87 per 1000 live births. The adolescent fertility rate, is 46.4 births per 1000 women aged 15 to 19. While the maternal mortality ratio is 300 in 100,000. Economy GDP per capita is $1.045, the gross national income (GNI) per capita is $1.123. Poverty According to the report, 2011, the multidimensional poverty (Percentage of the population with a weighted deprivation score of at least 33 percent) affects 56.4% of the population. "In Haiti, the proportion of people who suffer from both multidimensional poverty and inadequate access to clean water in the Metropolitan Area/West is 19% while in the Centre it reaches 70%" the report said. Environnement The report indicates that 19% of species are threatened, the rate of emissions of greenhouse gases per inhabitant, 0.3 for carbon dioxide. It is shown that the change in forest area is of -11.6%, and forest area occupies 3.7% of the surface soil. Demography The population is of 10,123.800 inhabitants, 53.6% urban, 5,101.950 are women and 5,021.840 men. (1) What is the HDI ?
