Haiti - Politic : The Senate voted unanimously a resolution for the lifting of the blockade against Cuba
The Senator Kely Bastien has informed the Special Envoys of the Cuban press in Port-au-Prince, that the Senate approved Friday, unanimously, a resolution calling for the unconditional lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade applied by the United States for over 50 years against Cuba.

In its resolution, the Senate notes that these measures against Cuba by the United States have serious consequences for the development of this island, it has caused losses estimated at 975 billion dollars between 1961 and 2010. The resolution also stresses that the final lifting of this anti-Cuban policy, would have positive consequences very advantageous in the Caribbean region, both for the movement of people, of goods and currencies and in terms of technological cooperation, scientific, cultural and sports, among other.

The Senator Bastien recalled that at the end of last month, the United Nations General Assembly had adopted once again, by an overwhelming majority of 186 votes in favor and three abstentions (two cons: the United States and its ally Israel) the Cuban resolution, asking the White House the elimination of coercive and unilateral measures against Cuba...

"I do not understand what means the democracy of the U.S. administration which opposes to the clamor of the majority of the international community, to lift the blockade against Cuba", lamented the Senator Bastien.
