Haiti - Damaged optical fiber : Digicel teams brave the danger and repair
Sunday April 26, in a note, Digicel informs all of its customers, and the public in general, that “as of April 27, 2020, the company suffered several attacks against its international fiber optic infrastructure in the area from Drouillard on National Road #1.

The optical fiber was damaged by gunfire after armed clashes that took place in the area for several days. This affected several services like Internet (data), SMS, MonCash and international calls. For now, we are happy to inform the public that all services are 100% restored.

We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused by this unfortunate incident. And we take this opportunity to salute the courage of our technical teams who did all possible diligence to restore services despite all the access problems in this area.

The company is working to assess the impact this has had on customers and will communicate in the coming days the measures it will take in terms of compensation."
