The action of the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of Haiti (CCAH), aims to encourage the use of appropriate dispute resolution procedures. To carry out its mission, the CCAH has organized Saturday at the Ritz Kinam hotel in favor of professionals from different industries, a seminar on mediation and arbitration. This activity is part from a perspective of training of managers that may be able to act as an arbitrator in cases of resolution of commercial disputes between traders in the business sector, but also on the state level. The students have received after training, a certificate of participation that empowers them, after a test, to be at the service of body of Arbitration of the CCAH.

Supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the specific objective in this seminar is to establish a center of commercial conciliation and arbitration operational and self-sustaining. he fields of intervention of the CCAH is not restricted only to traders, it also concerns all business leaders, legal professionals, insurers and others, because it encourages them to include in their contracts, clauses that refer to alternative methods of dispute resolution that have the advantages of being fast, efficient and inexpensive.

The economist Henri Bazin, who chairs the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of Haiti, stated "For the CCAH gives the expected results, it is necessary to establish a solid body of arbitrators. We hope that this seminar will enable us to be finally operational." He is convinced that this seminar is "an essential element in the strategy development of the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of Haiti"

At the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CHIC), a Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of Haiti was established in Port-au-Prince on 29 October 2007. The creation of this institution meets one of the objectives of the CHIC which is to establish and maintain a calm atmosphere in the business community in Haiti. The CCAH also finds its legal basis in the Act of June 15, 1935, published in the official newspaper "Le Moniteur" of Monday, June 24 authorizing the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti to create a Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration commercial.
