The obtaining of "Grand Prix Roman Métis 2011" for your novel "La Belle amour humaine" comes extend the moments of happiness in which is plunged the Government since already a few days. In recent weeks, the name of Haiti is written in gold letters on international screens. Illustrious compatriots like you, have gleaned many awards in the fields of literature and science, on foreign soil.
Lyonel, I want to congratulate you for this great patriotic distinction, which certainly, does not ring your literary career, because there are so many beautiful things to gratify yet, but recognizes a work of great human value. Already in our common Motherland and elsewhere, your name requires respect and admiration.
Today, dear compatriot, the country honors you, and welcomes the beautiful feather of the author of "Thérèse en mille morceaux", "(Re) Penser la citoyenneté", "Yanvalou pour Charlie", "l’Amour avant que j’oublie », "Éloge de la contemplation"...

Following the tribute writer Lyonel Trouillot wrote a short letter of thanks to the Minister.
I thank you for your word. Beyond the individual success, the duty of representation of an little known country is a responsibility of every citizen, especially for each creator. I greatly appreciate that you have taken your time to salute a distinction which reflects, in good, on us all. This is unfortunately not the norm in our political circles.
