Haiti - Reconstruction : New temporary buildings for the Parliament... 20/11/2011 12:58:30 The new Parliament building, whose cost amounts 1.9 million dollars, is financed and built by the Office of Initiatives of Transition of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). This space will house the parliament for several years, pending the construction of a permanent structure to house the National Assembly. The building is built on an area of over 22,000 square meters and includes two buildings connected by a common meeting room. The inauguration of the building that will be used to temporarily house the Haitian Parliament will take place tomorrow Monday, November 21, 2011 at 12:30 pm at Bicentenaire. While waiting this new building, the Parliament previously worked in prefabricated offices of transition, put at their disposal by the Minsutah, pending space more functional.
