Haiti - Politic : First political reactions to the speeches Martelly-Conille
After the speeches delivered Monday by the President Michel Martelly and the Prime Minister, Dr. Garry Conille on the occasion of the opening of the first ordinary session of the parliamentary works of the 49th Legislature, the first political reactions are relatively positive. The Head of State met the expectations, even if as pointed out by many, it is necessary to wait to see if the words will turn into reality in 2012.

The Deputy Fritz Chery (Gros Morne / AAA) think that "honestly the Speech of the Prime Minister was not unprepared, but for a speech to take stock on the actions of his government, I think it was not really appropriate since there were more perspectives, more statements of intent in terms of projects.

As for the speech of the President of the Republic, I think it's a speech that could have had more thickening [...] this is not a speech of protocol obviously [...] but I was expecting of the President that he speaks clearly of the issue of elections to be held in Haiti..."

Le Sénateur Simon Dieuseul Desras (Centre / LAVNI), réagissant au discours du Présdent Martelly estime que The Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras (Centre / LAVNI), reacting to the speech of President Martelly estimates that "...it is a very good speech, a speech which requires not only be applauded but to be taken to the word. We must look now if this speech will arrive to be transformed from words into action. If it's the case, I think it's a chance for the country and it is a year of future, contrary to what many, including myself, who believed that this year could be a very difficult year politically..."

For the Senator Jean William Jeanty (Nippes / KONBA) "...the President tried to be at the height of the time and of the task. He tried as much as possible to stay at a certain height, it did not go into details such as the Prime Minister has done [...] he tried to pass a series of wishes to the nation of what he thinks should be done during the year 2012. So we're just waiting to see things concretely. I think the President, overall, met the expectations..."

For his part, the Senator Jean Maxime Roumer (Grand’Anse / LESPWA) estimates that "...it is a speech that has an important political significance, but it is just a speech. It involves issues that are for me important, now you can touch them and not to give solutions [...] it's a good speech in the background, in its content and it is necessary that he follow this road, that the nation follow this route. But now, a speech and the reality, are two different things..."
