Haiti - Economy : Creation of 1 million jobs over 5 years
The Prime Minister, Dr. Garry Conille, wishes that the growth be socially and equitably distributed throughout the territory and undertakes that about 1 million jobs be created over a period of 5 years. Recall that the President Michel Martelly, at the forum on investment, had already committed the government so that at least 500.000 jobs is created in the Haitian economy over the next 5 years.

For Professor Wilson Laleau, Minister of Trade and Industry "...It's possible it's even very possible [...] for a population of about 10 million people, we can say that there are roughly 200,000 formal jobs, ie people receiving a check regularly [...]

In this context, we refer to all types of jobs : in the Haitian government, at the commercial, industrial, tourism and agriculture level, but, so that these jobs are sustainable and decent, they must be created in a context of economic growth [...]

Now everything will be play in the coherence that we will find in the Government and its policies that we will be able to implement. That's why, at the level of Prime Minister, we organize inter-ministerial meetings on issues considered strategic. For example, the issue of financing of the economy, we make meetings that do not mobilize only ministers, but also some stakeholders who may be public or private organizations, to see how to address this issue and how to find appropriate solutions that allow really to actors of the system, to be able to enjoy..."
