Haiti - Politic : The U.S. Government grants new H-2 visas
Haitian nationals, can request since yesterday Wednesday, January 18, 2102, H-2 visas at the U.S. Consulate. The President Michel Martelly, learned with satisfaction the official decision of the U.S. Government to grant new visas H-2A and H-2B to the Haitian workers, willing to work in the United States. The Head of State, on behalf of the Haitian people, welcomed the decision and thanked the Government and the American people.

"With this decision, the Government of the United States has renewed its confidence in the work done by the current team in power that has developed a new leadership [...] We will strengthen it with the support of the U.S. government and that of our partners and our citizens" informed the President Martelly which intends to strengthen ties with friendly countries of Haiti, who demonstrate their willingness to accompany him in the success of its mandate.

H-2A visa: Agricultural or Services Workers
The H-2A visa is reserved to aliens who come to the U.S. to perform agricultural labor or services of a "temporary or seasonal nature". By "temporary or seasonal nature", we mean employment performed at some seasons of the year, i.e. during the production and/or harvesting of a crop, for one (1) year or less.

The H-2A visa is granted for a period of one (1) year but it can be renewed twice. The total period of an H-2A Visa is three (3) years.

H-2B visa: Agricultural Workers
The H-2B visa is reserved to aliens who come to the U.S. to perform work temporarily in nature :

- Seasonal workers
- Intermittent workers
- Workers hired during peak seasons

The H-2B visa is granted for a period of one (1) year but it can be renewed twice. The total period of an H-2B visa is three (3) years.
