Haiti - Humanitarian : The U.S. vessel «HSV 2 Swift» in Mission in Haiti
As part of the commitment of the United States, of responding to priorities of the Haitian government in the areas of health, education and security, the vessel of the U.S. Navy "High Speed ​​Vessel" (Swift HSV 2) is in Haiti as part of the mission of the United States Southern Command "Southern Partnership Station 2012 (SPS 12)."

The HSV 2 SWIFT offloaded a $4 million dollars of Project Handclasp humanitarian and medical supplies to be distributed to NGOs and other medical and school institutions in Mirebalais and Cap-Haitien.

The 90-member crew aboard the Swift includes experts in construction, port operations, medicine, and security and they will work with their Haitian peers during their three-week visit to : renovate a school and the local dispensary to benefit 14,000 residents of Caracol; train Haitian National Police (PNH) and Coast Guard agents and dialogue with Haitian Ministry of Public Health specialists on veterinary and public health issues.
