The President Michel Martelly, accompanied by Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and of Managing Director of General Administration of Customs, Francel Saintilien, paid a courtesy visit, Thursday, February 23, on the dock of Port-au-Prince where he greeted the crew of the Adriana Tropicana Cruises. This cruise ship based in Cuba, provided excellent service during the National Carnival 2012, which was held successfully in Les Cayes.

The Head of State and the Minister of Tourism expressed their gratitude to the captains Vasily Borovsky and Konstantin Repa, or their efficient work and congratulated the twenty young people from the hotel school of Haiti, who have been able for 5 days, highlight the Haitian cuisine aboard this cruise with 250 passengers including foreigners. It was a great first to see a cruise ship travel from one port to another in the country.



For its part, the President of the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH), Pierre Chauvet, welcoming the initiative of President Martelly to have transferred the National Carnival 2012 in Les Cayes, found that "local tourism will take another dimension by discovering the country by sea."

In addition, the Head of State urged all representatives of the tourism sector to organize activities that attract many more tourists in the country and promised his full support for this purpose. The President Martelly, who has clearly expressed its willingness to organize the National Carnival 2013 in another provincial city, continues to believe in the capacity of the Haitian people to achieve exploits "Who wants may" he said.
